what is "silver lined pocket"? How about you lower some taxes that feed your silver lined pocket. what does it mean by "silver lined pocket"? thanksin that case, it has the same meaning with "lined pocket", "silver" here means "extra" and "more greedy"? does it has something to do "sliver lining" as in "Every cloud has a silver lining" ? thanks

"Silver-lined pockets" means that the person will benefit from the lower taxes. (Think about extra coins in somebody's pockets). It also means something like bribery or a wrong action to benefit a person. The saying comes from the Biblical story of Judas, when he betrayed Jesus for a few silver coins.

A silver lined pocket is a pocket with lots and lots of money. I think there is reference to corruption of officials here. They tax people but instead of building schools they line their own pockets. Line your pockets = to take the money
