Often on book web sites you can read the first chapter of a book free. This could be handy for you. I suggest finding a used book store. If there is one in your town, the used books can be very cheap. You could buy some, and trade them back in too.

Depends on the reason you are reading this book, no two books are the same and each have a different genre they belong to. One of the most interesting books I have read was called "Endymion Spring." But if you want to read something more deep and with some (new) words I would suggest reading some of Edgar Allan Poe's works, most of his stories are now on the internet for free.
