half past six vs six thirty
I am doing self-study writing English and I have a question here. I know "half-past six" and "six thirty" has same meaning but I just curious which one sound more natural to you.
I think "six thirty" is common use in the United States.

Six thirty is more common in America. We also commonly say this:
Five fifteen (5:15)
Five twenty (5:20) or Twenty after Five
six forty-five (6:45) or quarter 'till Seven or quarter to seven
ten after nine (9:10)

Time is interesting. There are many ways to express time in English. "Six thirty," "Half past six," "Thirty minutes past the hour," "Thirty minutes after six," "Thirty minutes till the hour." Yes, English is fun when there is variety.
