It is not just a meal between breakfast and lunch. Brunch can be served between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and would replace breakfast and lunch. Brunch is popular on the weekends and holidays when people don't have to go to work and can sleep in.

Brunch is when you eat continuously from the time you awake till just past lunch. If you keep eating till dinner, it is called Brunchinner.
