You: Hi, how are you?
Friend: Hi, i'm fine. How about you?
You: I am fine as well but honestly speaking, I have a little problem now about financial. And that is the reason why I am here. I know it is little embarrassing but I think you are the only one who can help me about this matter. May I borrow some money? (Then tell what is the real reason why are you borrowing his money.)
Friend: Well, I got some money here to lend you.
You: Thank you so much, by the way I will find ways to pay it back to you as soon as possible.
~> I hope this is helpful to you.
~>Have a nice day sir.

If you're going to ignore Polonius' advice, I guess the way to ask a close friend to lend you a small amount of money, like ten pounds, for example, in everyday speech, might be like this:
Hey, I don't suppose you could lend us a tenner, could you?

Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell. My blessing season this in thee!
