I should also note that "buds" can also be a slang word for "Budweiser" beer, one of the most famous brands of beer in America. For example: "I drank a few Buds." (this would refer to Budweiser beers)

"buds" is a male slang word for friends (usually only men will use this word. Some women may also use it, but it is a lot less common, and I definitely don't recommend using the word if you are female, as it sounds very "unfeminine").

When we use "weekends" in the plural, with no numerals attached to it, we are usually speaking of weekends in general. For example, we often start a sentence with: "I spend my weekends..." Such as: "I spend my weekends watching movies, shopping, cleaning house, and hanging out with my buds (a male slang word for "friends")." In this sentence, we are talking about weekends in general.
