走过你来时的路 - zou guo ni lai shi de lu
Hi, can someone please help me translate the following line from the song 好久不见.
走过你来时的路
zou guo ni lai shi de lu
I know what is is supposed to say. But when I use a dictionary I cant seem to understand why the sentence says what it does. I hope I am making sense.
This is what I can translate without cheating.
"Walk past you to arrive when road"
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.
Thank you!

above friends have explained this sentence clearly~ and i just want to mention some other points which i hope can help u to understand it~
in the sentence “走过” is the verb means walk past, “你来时的”the four together modify the noun 路(road), so u should take them as a whole and can not see them separately~
so“你来时”means“ when you came here”,(which road did u choose to wander?)

Walk on the road that you originally came here.

我来到 你的城市 走过你来时的路
I arrive at the city where you are. (我来到你的城市)
how do I come here?
-------I walk through the road which you took when you came to the city. (I think walk through is better than walk past.) it means, for example, you came to the city through the Road 5, and I came to the city through the Road 5 too.
我来到 你(所在)的城市 (by)walking through the road which you took when you came to the city.
