I need some help, please . What the phrase "the devil you know is better than the devil you don't " mean?

it means that dealing with someone or something that you are already familiar with, even if it is not perfect, is often better than dealing with somebody or something you've never faced before.

It means that familiar evils are better than the unknown ones.
