@523153083: You should join our group, "A Poet's Soul". Here we will discuss much in translating Chinese poetry into English. Check us out! My Lord was born but yet not I, 我生君已老。Day I was born, he is already old. Hateful it is for us not to be born at the same time, 日日与君好 So that each day, I can be good to him. If it was release from the contraints of poetry and translation, "He was born, I am not. Now that I am here, he's too old. How I wish we had born on the same day so that each and every other day, I can be good to him." 好 smacks with much connotation of sex. The rest of the poem is as follows.

When (my lord? my man?) was born, I was not yet born... When I was born, he was already (too) old... I wish we would have been born at the same time, it would be great if i could spend every day with him. (spending our lives together and being happy?) (please excuse my broken Chinese, if you can help me fix my Chinese, I would appreciate it!)

I was not yet born the day you were born, You'd been ages the day I saw the light. I hate that nothing would make up our missed days, I would otherwise treasue every minute of those days with you.

Jun I was not born when I was born old. I was born, every day, and the king.
