A.D means "Anno Domini" and has the opposite meaning of B.C. This means that A.D is the years after Christ was born.

"AD" stands for "anno domini", which means "year of our lord" in Latin. "AD" refers to any time from the year 1 to the present time, according to the Gregorian calendar. "BC" stands for "before Christ", and it refers to the time before the year 1 AD.
