hello
Sorry in Hebrew? How many ways are there to say "Sorry" in Hebrew? If I'm in a formal situation and I need to say sorry, what is the formal way to do so to both genders? If I want to be extra polite and extra formal while saying sorry, what is the word in Hebrew for both genders in order to say sorry formally (to be extra-formal). If I'm casual and it's an informal setting how would I say sorry? Would slicha be the word for this setting or not? Thank you.

Slicha's closest equivalent would be Pardon (including how it's used in french). it can be used as a casual apology or as "excuse me?" I don't know if it counts as a "formal" way, but there's the more deliberate form: Ani Mizta'er / Ani Mizta'eret ("I'm sorry", m/f) אני מצטער\מצטערת "mizta'er/et" alone (without "ani") is more casual. And if you really messed things up, you may want to add "Ani Mitnazel/et" אני מתנצל\ת - I apologize :)
