I cannot understand this joke. Can you help me?
What did the drummer get on his I.Q. Test? Saliva.Three explanations so far. But I cannot understand the joke yet.I see saliva is the liquid produced in your mouth that keeps your mouth moist and makes it easier to swallow food. But what's the relationship between a test and saliva. I know the drummer has misunderstood the I.Q. test but I can't understand what kind of test is related to saliva.

One popular metaphor for stupidity is drooling. Perhaps it means he drooled on the test paper.
"I.Q. test"

The the premise (foundation) of the joke is that people who play the drums are not intelligent. Usually, when you say "to get" "on a test," it means what grade did you get. ("He got a 95% on his test.") But the drummer was so unintelligent, that all he could "get" on his test was his own saliva, as if he drools. "to drool" means to let saliva escape uncontrollably from your mouth.

Drummers are known for drooling over all the place. So this is just a play on the word "get" - "get on his IQ test" here could mean to "obtain a score on the test," or more literally, "to cause something to be put/placed on something." (think "get on the bus"). So while drumming, the drummer's saliva flew everywhere, which it got onto his IQ test sheet... Not a terribly funny joke, if you ask me.

The joke is implying a drummer is so dumb, he cannot take an IQ test, and like a drug test, he licks it or does something otherwise odd.

Think about being sleepy. If you are sleepy, you put your head down on the table to sleep. If your mouth is open, you might drool saliva onto the table. If there was a paper test on the table, you would drool onto the test. You would get saliva on the test. With the drummer is similar. He is not sleepy, but he is dumb and he doesn't know the answers to the test, so his mouth is open and he drools saliva onto the test.
