How do you say these 2 japanese kotowaza? Proof rather than argument. ~Japanese Proverb If you believe everything you read, better not to read. ~Japanese Proverb I really like these proverbs/kotowaza, so I was wondering how you say them in Japanese.

"Proof rather than argument" 論(ron)より証拠(shouko) "If you believe everything you read, better not to read." Is it really a Japanese proverb? I've never heard of it. Sorry. Wait other people's answers.

尽く書を信ずれば即ち書なきに如かず (Kotogotoku sho wo shinzureba sunawachi sho naki ni shikazu) It's a classic Chinese quote from Mencius(孟子 Moushi), rather than Japanese proverb. The credit should go to ancient China. http://baike.baidu.com/view/3536804.htm
