What's the difference between "a player" and "a playboy"?

Technically nothing. Perhaps playboys are considered to be "well to do" meaning he may have a decent job, his own place, a nice car, good clothes, et cetera whereas players are usually broke or low-wage earners and don't own much of anything. Both are known to play the field and aren't looking for long-term commitments.
