They are basically different words for the same meaning however 'would like' is a more polite way of saying 'want'

"Would like" is more polite than "want".
If you want to present something it will be better to use "Would like"
"I would like to present about ........"
not "I want to present about......... "
Good luck n_n

后者语气更客气些,表请求。
would you like some coffee?
want更主观些
waiter.I want a drink
