I do not understand the difference between the following three verb.
Can someone please explain them to me with example sentences.
to gaze at sth. / sb.
to peer at sth / sb.
to stare at sth / sb.
thank you so much...

It's more about mood than anything else.
to gaze -> kind of a dreamy quality - like gazing at a beautiful sunset or at the person you love
to stare -> a bit harder, more intense - staring at a person is a bit rude, for example. You might also stare at something you're trying to understand, like a difficult diagram.
to peer -> usually used when someone is searching for something - like peering into an alleyway to see if anyone's there
Hope this helps!

hey there! :D
I know I'm not the best at explaining things, but let me explain this for you!
'To peer at..' means to look at something for a long time (intently), searchingly, or with difficulty.
'To stare at' means to keep looking at something (you don't want look away from the object you're looking at)
'To gaze at' is very similar with 'to stare at' ~ Gaze means that you look for a long time at something. For example: "I gazed at the starry sky" ~ It also means 'to be in a trance' whilst looking at something :DD
I hope this helps ^^

in many situations, peer or gaze could be used. Stare has more intensity or is longer. I dont think about it if someone gazes at me, but if they stare, I wonder why.
