it's a very irregular verb, isn't it!
Learnt is the past tense of the verb to learn. 'We learnt about atoms in science class yesterday'.
Learned is an adjective, that describes a person or organisation that has achieved or completed much learning. 'My learned colleague knows much about physics'
I believe it is common for people to use the spelling 'learned' in both cases. However, the pronunciation is different.
The past/very form is pronounced 'learnd' (single syllable) and the adjective is pronounced learn-ed (obvious two syllables)

'Learned' and 'learnt' are both the past tense of 'learn' and are both correct.
'Learned' is used in North America, while 'learnt' is used in British English.
