What is 'companion materials' here? Thank you in advance. Used books may not include companion materials; notes or highlighting may be present.

I pasted this sentence into Google search to see if I could find a context. It seems to be a standard sentence used to describe secondhand books for sale. "Companion materials" are items like CDs which may have accompanied the text when it was bought new.
