Life like love is never coincidence. "Coincidence" isn't about statistics, random chance, or metaphysics. It's in one's psychology.
"S#!t happens." Events unfold as they do.
Is an event so completely random it has no connection to other events? No. If we looked close enough and could understand the connection all things have in the universe, we could see the connection. (Notice I didn't say reason.)
So, does everything happen for a reason? Perhaps. However, the reason someone usually thinks of is usually just that. A reason they "think" applies and it's usually based upon their limited point of view. Someone else may see another reason.
The Universe may have another reason altogether.
Here's a little story about the meaning ppl give to events and how the meaning can change:

"May be," replied the old man. The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune. "May be," answered the farmer. The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out. "May be," said the farmer
