"Catch up on" can be at the end of a part of a sentence, as in: "There's some work I need to catch up on." Or, if you haven't mentioned what it is that needs catching up, some object needs to follow: "I need to catch up on sleep." If you have specific other sentences you'd like to try, feel free to comment!
