What is Syllogism in Critical Thinking?

A syllogism is a simple form of argumentation consisting of three lines. The classic example: All men are mortal Socrates is a man Therefore, Socrates is mortal. The first line of a syllogism is always "All A are _____________." The second line is always "X is an A" The conclusion follows. I hope this helps. Rick
