Hi Aviad. It seems like you've posted this as an English question instead of a German one, which is possibly why you've not received any answers. My guess would be: "Du warst ein brillanter Professor! Ich genoss die Klasse und es hat in mir den Wunsch, auch weiterhin Philosophie zu studieren." but you might want to check that with a native speaker!
