When talking about someone's (or an animal's) age, use 岁. Otherwise, use 年.
e.g.
我10岁.
他比我大两岁.
In Classical Chinese, 岁 and 年 were interchangeable.

年means year. for example. 2011年 means in 2011
岁means your age. for example .你几岁？means how old are you?

dans l'ancien chinois, 年 ＝ 岁 ＝ an, comme le français, ils peuvent utiliser soit comme "year" soit comme "years old". mais maintenant, 年 veut dire "year" and 岁 veut dire "years old".
