"Maybe I got to lose myself, so I can find what I am". I was reading something and I found that phrase.

The author of this phrase is being abstract.
Perhaps I should lose myself. Then in the search to find myself, I will learn who and what I am.

I think it is right.There is a proverb in China:Lookers-on see most of the game because they keep cool. If we exist as a person not ourselves ,we can look ourselves clearly.
