1. With main clauses, the verb is always on second position: Ich heiße Manuela. Martina kommt aus Deutschland. 2. Questions a) The verb is the first part of the question: Kommt Martina aus Deutschland? Heißt du Manuela? b) The verb is on second position after a question word: Wie heißt du? Woher kommst du? Was trinkst du?
