people still use "kick the bucket" today?
I know "kick the bucket" means die, but, do people still use the phrase today? I learnt the phrase in the novel "The Metamorphosis", you know, the novel was written about 100 years ago, and even the translation might have been finished decades ago. Thank you.

Yes. The title of the popular 2007 movie, "The Bucket List" refers to it, and seems to have launched a new phrase of its own. In the movie, a "bucket list" meant a list of things one longed to experience before "kicking the bucket."

Yes, we do use it. As with most idioms of this type, you hear it more from older than from younger people, but it is still used a lot.
