Is there a term for "nurse practitioner" or "advanced practice" nurse in Italian? I'm not sure there is such a thing as a nurse practitioner in Italy but I would like to be able to explain in Italian what it is that I do. I say "Sono un'infermiera in "practica avanzata" si chiama "nurse practitioner." Una infermiera in practica avanzata puo trattare pazienti come un medico puo in la clinica. Does that work?

Hi Ann. I am a nurse working in an Italian hospital. There isn't this difference. At university you can decide to specialize in different specialities but when you work, yes there is the expert nurse, who worked in a ward more than others, but there isn't a recognized difference. Maybe not so clear....my English is enough bad. ^_^ Write to me if you want to talk about our job. It would be interesting.
