How would you translate "Enseigner C'est dire esperance, etudier fidelite" into English ?
I found this French phrase in a poem with Japanese translation. I was impressed with that. I want to know how to translate it into English. I tried doing like this:
"To teach is to talk about future, to study/learn (is) to have honesty."
Is this correct? How would you translate?
Thank you.

Interestingly, google detected that it was the language of 'Haitian Creole'.
But the phrase, "To teach is to talk about future, to study/learn (is) to have honesty", does not make sense.
To correct it grammatically... To teach is to talk about the future; To study/learn is to have honesty.
But it still will not make sense. Hmm.

To teach is to hope; to learn is to believe (that you can achieve your hopes)

I've just known this is from Loui Aragon's poem: La Diane Francaise. But I couldn't find its English version. Does anybody know the Web site which has the poem in English? I'm really interested to know how it was translated and what words translators used.
