'At once' vs 'Immediately"
I recognise him at once.
I recognise him immediately.
What's the difference between them?
Are they the same?
Which one is used in spoken/informal English?

They are both used equally and are both suitable in any situation.
But...
You would normally say
I recognised him at once or I would recognise him at once
or I recognised him immediately or I would recognise him immediately.
past or future.
Personally, I use "at once"
Hope this helps.
