Subjunctive Pronunctiation Hello! I'm a bit confused as to the pronunciation of "aie" and "aille" as in "j'aie" and "j'aille" and what the difference is? I haven't heard these or used them yet, so any comparisons to other words would be greatly appreciated!

You can use Forvo to listen to words: http://www.forvo.com/word/que_j%27aie/#fr http://www.forvo.com/word/que_j%27aille/#fr "j'aie" rhymes with "je fais"; "j'aille" rhymes with "une paille", or with "my" (in English). I hope this helps! :)

Hi Hugh. "Aie" and "aille" are very different. First of all "aie" is the subjunctive of "avoir" (to have) and "aille" is the one of "aller" (to go). Concerning the pronunciation, "aie" sounds like the [è] in "help" and "aille" sounds like the [aye] in "like". Bye !
