Because you don't need to remember every kanji. You just type and get suggestions for kanji.

From easy to hard.
reading > listening > typing > speaking > writing
I have no idea how to write anything in Kanji, never learnt and never will. I have less things to study this way.

For me they are about equally as hard. But right now when I write by hand I use mainly kana, when I type I use more kanji. It is easy to type kanji because you just write the kana, press the space bar, and then pick the right kanji :)

speaking is easier because you can do it using Romanji

Writing Japanese but typing for the Kanji as the option comes up as you write the hiragana. I recognise the kanji when I see it but when writing it off the top of my head I can't quite remember all the strokes.
