A question about 'Konnichiwa'.
Ok, I know that Konnichiha is used for 'Good Afternoon' and 'Hello', however is 'Konnichiha' only used in the afternoon and not in any other times of the day? Like if it was morning and I say 'Konnichiha' instead of 'Ohayou(Gozaimasu)' or in the evening and I say 'Konnichiha' instead of 'Konbanha', would that be incorrect? In English, we say 'Hello' for all times of the day and still have 'Good Morning', 'Good Afternoon' and 'Good Evening' and I was wondering if in Japanese it was a bit different or the same?
Thanks.

Quite the same, Konnichiha is like hello in the sense that one can use it at anytime of the day. And there are also specific greetings meant for specific times like Ohayou(Gozaimasu) and Konbanha. I'm not 100% sure if there is a specific greeting for the afternoon though. Most people use Konnichiha in the afternoon.

We don't say konnichiwa for all time of the day. In the morning, we say Ohayou. Afternoon is konnichiwa. Evening is konbanwa. But I think I say konnichiwa when I saw a customer in my office who is Not come there at the first time even they come in evening.
We have no like a hallo word which is used all time of the day.
