Could you explain the meaning of "pedestals crumbled" please?
I've searched through Google, but I have still no idea what is the correct meaning.
Here's an example: "My pedestal crumbled to dust."
I'm thinking on two options.
First option is that it means that everything in life fell apart, and left only ruins behind.
And the second option is that person that might use the phrase had had high opinion about themselves and then for some reason they realised they were wrong.
Is any of those two options correct?

Yes, to me, the second option is most likely correct. Being 'put on a pedestal' means that others hold you in high regard. If someone puts themselves on a pedestal they have a high opinion of themselves, like you say, or sets themselves up as an expert.
To say the phrase "My pedestal crumbled to dust" could be said after something that changes that opinion or situation.

Without seeing the exact context, I read it as #2. The person had a high opinion of themselves or of someone else, and they saw that opinion is wrong. When someone thinking very highly of another person and gives them special treatment, thinks they're superior to others, they can be said to be putting them "on a pedestal" so I think it's that.
