Was ist der Unterschied zwischen diese beiden Wörter?

Ein Ball ist normalerweise etwas, womit man spielt; z.B. Handball, Fußball, usw.
Eine Kugel ist ein runder Körper ansich.

Situationsabhängig würde ich mal sagen, mit einer Bowlingkugel spielt man auch und man brütet sie nicht aus.
