I have to translate this sentence into Japanese: Takeshi san waited for Marr for one hour in front of the department store.
The rest of the sentence I can translate fine, but I don't know hoe to say "for". He waited "for" Mary. thanks in advance for your help.

The translation  is " TakeshiはMarrさんのためにデパートのまえで1時間（じかん）まちました。"
➡️" TakeshiはMarrさんをデパートのまえで1時間（じかん）まちました。"  This  two sentences mean the same! But latter one is more natural!!

The former meaning of "for〜"  is  "目的（もくてき）【〜のために】"  
For example, I'm waiting for the train.（私はでんしゃのために待っています）➡️（私はでんしゃを待っています）Latter translation  is more natural.

The latter meaning of "for〜" is "期間（きかん）【〜の間（あいだ）】
For example, I have stayed at the hotel for three weeks. （私はホテルに3週間たいざいしている）
