"She will lose it" - What does it mean?
I dial him as fast as my fingers will allow, praying that he hasn't called my mother yet.He doesn't pick up, but I text him assuring him that I'm okay and there is no need for him to call my mother. She will lose it if she thinks something happened to me on my first weekend of college.
it's from a book. I don't understand what "she will lose it" means.. something like "she won't feel well"?

It means that she will be very upset.
It's a common phrase. I think it is short for "lose his/her mind".
To lose your mind means to go crazy.
It may also be short for "lose his/her cool", which means to be
angry. Being cool is relaxed and calm.
We usually use it when someone is acting really
upset.
"He lost it when I told him I crashed his car!"
