This Korean grammar point is used to change a descriptive verb to an action verb. This grammar point can only be used with a third person subject. Unless the verbs 좋아하다 or 싫어하다 are used, which can be used in first person context.
Example of 어/아/여하다:

(저는) 좋은 사람을 사귀기(가) 어려워요.

(1)좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워요.
->usually who? me! (내가) 좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워요.
(2)좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워해요.
-> who? someone. 그녀는/그는/내 친구는 (She/He/My friend) 좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워해요.
(2) is depend on subject. (Is it correct? I mean 주어에 따라서 맞을수도 틀릴 수도 있어요!)
