the meaning of “not so competitive”?? thanks
I sent an offer to my customer and got his reply" We see your prices are not so competitive as those we are used to buy in our local market. anyway please send us sample". I want to know "not so competitive" means our price have a little
competitiveness or our price are higher than the local market without any competitiveness.

In the negative sentences, "so...as" means "as.. as", which means"the same as.." Therefore, "the price is not so competitive as..."means" your price is not cheaper than..."
If the clients are satisfied with your samples, there is still a chance to negotiate. Send the samples at once! Good luck!

I think the price you offered is higher than your competitors or it can just mean the price is higher than what your client expected.
Not competitive means you are going to lose the competitiveness in market and will not be able to get the contract with them:)
Sorry for the bad news but hope it helps!
Have a nice day!
