Profesor profesional¿How can I say "dame pan y dime tonto" in English?
In Spain we have a common idiom that says: dame pan y dime tonto. We say that when we don't care about naggins that ohters can give us, we only care about material things like money.
Thanks you for your answers.

Becuase one you have the bread, the world does not mind you. You give me the bread and no matter what you tell me.

Reyes, Interestingly, I don't think English has an equivalent expression to this one. I understand the sentiment behind it but I can't think of anything even remotely like that in English.
Out of curiosity, why would it be bad to ask for bread (even if we're using bread metaphorically)? Why would they call you dumb for asking for a necessity?
