how do we say "I need ~~" ??
when we say we need to do something ( like I need to go ) we generally add "아/어야 하다". is it the same when we say I need something like we're complaining
ex: I need more sleep or I need to start revising for the exams

I need to start revising for the exams
시험공부를 시작해야 해요.
1. need + a noun : …을 필요로 하다, …이 필요하다.
A sick person needs care.
환자에게는 간호가 필요하다.
I need someone to look after my son.
누군가 내 아들을 돌봐줄 사람이 필요하다.
2. need + to do something : …할 필요가 있다, 해야 하다,
I need to get some sleep.
난 잠을 좀 자야 한다.
I need to mow the lawn.
나는 잔디를 깎아야 한다.

아/어야 되다 is also used to express ''need to do somthing''
