- 화가 나다: get angry. 그는 부당한 처우에 화가 났다: He got angry at the wrongful treatment he received.
- 화를 내다: show anger; get angry toward someone. 친구는 내게 화를 냈다: My friend got angry with me.
- 약이 오르다: be provoked to irritation; be taunted to spitefulness.
약이 오르다(vi) and 약을 올리다(vt) are immature sounding expressions favored by children and adolescents.
- 눈을 붙이다: take what little sleep one can. 눈 좀 붙일게요: I'll take a quick nap.
- 한숨 자다: get some sleep. 피곤한데 한숨 자거라: You must be tired - why don't you get some sleep.
- 푹 자다: get a full sleep. 푹 자고 일어나면 기분이 좋아질 거다: You'll feel better once you get a full night's sleep.
- 늘: usually (or always). 내 친구는 늘 행동이 늦다: My friend is usually/always slow to act.
- 항상: always. 선생님은 항상 [언제나] 웃는 얼굴이시다: Our teacher always has a smile on his/her face.
- 언제나: always. 이 가게 주인은 언제나 친절하다: The owner of this store is always kind.
언제나 and 항상 sound a bit stronger than 늘.
항상 is more closely associated with constancy, while 언제나 implies "without fail" or "every time".
늘 has a softer feel than the other two, which might work better in some contexts.
- 온도를 항상 20도로 유지할 것: Must keep the temperature at a constant 20 degrees.
- 너는 언제나 말썽꾼이야: You're always a troublemaker.
- 늘 따뜻하게 대해 주는 친구: a friend who always welcomes me warmly.
