你好！Francesca. I will illustrate this question in two aspects. The basic use and special use. The basic meaning of 都 is all。In statement sentence, we put it after the object（target). For example: 我们都相信你。我们 object（target)+都 我们班每个人的汉语都不错。我们班每个人的汉语object（target)+都 Here is a special use in question sentence, we should put 都 before the object（target). For example: 1.你去过哪儿？ Where have you been？ If we add a 都， 你都去过哪儿？ Where have you all been?( All the places you have been to) 2.老师刚刚说了什么？ What did the teacher say just now? If we add a 都， 老师刚刚都说了什么？ What did the teacher all say just now?(All the words the teacher said) So if we add a 都 in the question sentence， it stresses all the contents corresponding to the question word.

For me, i think it usually mean" where do you usually go?" ex: 你下班之后都去哪里(儿)? (where do you usually go after work?) but sometimes, I think it means "whole" ex :你这个周末都在做什么?( what did you do in the whole weekend) we use this a lot in Taiwan )
