contact (with)? I have some troubles with the word 'contact'. Do I understand correctly that if I use it as a verb, I should never add 'with' after it? For example: I figured that's why she's missing, and why she doesn't contact me. (not contact with me) I will contact Mr. Klok immediately so that he can, in turn, contact you. (not contact with Mr.Klock / contact with you) And that I need to use 'with' when I use 'contact as a noun? 'establish a reliable contact with government', 'stay in contact with each other' and so on. also, is the phrase 'get in touch with' formal or informal? Does it have absolutely the same meaning as 'contact' and can I use it in conversation with colleagues, customers, people of higher rank (at my work) etc.?

Hello Kate, Your sentences with 'contact' are all perfectly correct so you now understand it correctly. 'Get in touch' is less formal so you can use it with friends but probably not your boss! Best wishes Bob

not really. "We'll contact you by mail or telephone." is perfectly correct.
