I agree with what Jane said in her comment. The way it is usually said is, "It made a deep impression on me." It would also sound natural to say, "It left a deep impression on me." Either one is common among American English speakers.

I would say "It made a deep impression on me."

"It had a big impact on me" That's what I would say.
