You need an English dictionary. All English dictionaries show how words are divided into syllables and which one has the accent. There are "rules" but they are not reliable. I suggest buying a print dictionary, but you can also use an online dictionary. I like ahdictionary.org. It is showing me:
te·di·ous
o·blige
ab·sorb
whoa
civ·i·li·za·tion
ar·chi·tec·ture
You can look up the rest for yourself. Word processors have built in hyphenation dictionaries to allow them to break words at the ends of lines correctly. Very seriously, native speakers do not rely on rules; if they want to know how to break a word into syllables, they consult a dictionary.

I just did a quick google and found this website which looks like it can break up words into syllables and explain their pronunciation. Maybe it can help you?

It might be more useful to hear these words on forvo.com. English dictionaries will show syllables, just go to dictionary.com (for example) - no need to wait for others do the work. Example: "tedious" -> /ˈti di əs/
