Is it the same pronunciation? To die and To dye Doesn't it confuse you? I don't understand how I can tell them apart...For me the pronunciation is the same.... How can I distinguish them? Any suggest? Thank you in advance :)

The pronunciation is the same, so in spoken English, you will understand the meaning based on the context, for example; "I don't want to die until I'm old!" "I don't want to dye my hair!" 'Dye' will almost always come with the object to be dyed (as above) or a pronoun, e.g., "I don't want to dye it!". Whereas 'die' can appear in isolation, "I don't want to die!".

It may vary internationally, but certainly to me, they are pronounced identically. We distinguish them mainly by context, one of the main giveaways is that die is intransitive, and dye is transitive. Is there an object? In that case, it's probably 'dye'. I hope you die. I hope you dye that shirt.
