In English the verb does not change based on gender. But the pronoun will change.
Example;
John was hungry so he bought a hamburger.
Mary was hungry so she bought a hamburger.

Hi Raymond,
You can use "grammatical number" to fill in the bracket. It refers to the concept of subject-verb agreement based on the singularity or plurality of nouns. Such an agreement also extends to pronouns and determiners.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Lance
