I think (I'm not sure) the stoop is the step at the front of terraced houses on which people sit to chat to their neighbours. (stoop is American English),
Porch is the entrance area or roofed area at the front door of any house that has one. Often enclosed and often made of wood it may not be the same structure as the house. In my case I keep my old boots in my porch and Amazon leave packages there.

A stoop is a set of stairs in front of a house, basically. It's not used much anymore. A porch typically means a covered area at the entrance of a house (i.e., it has a roof). To get a better feel for these, go to Google Images and look at what shows up when you google stoop and porch.
