Could I use "staff" here?
Please go the the tourist information center, and ask the staff to call (phone number).
I know that "the staff" refers to a group of people, but the above sentence looks ok to me?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, your sentence is fine.
You can say 'ask the staff'. This refers, in general terms, to the group of people who work there.
You can also say 'ask one of the staff'. This means an individual belonging to that group. You can also say 'ask a member of staff'. This also refers to an individual.

Yes,
Please go the the tourist information center, and ask one the staff to call.
Staff= employees working there in information center in this case.
staff is also a "wooden rod"used usually by old people while walking, for support.
Note: your sentence is grammatically correct. I just modified it to make the context much clearer.

This would be a correct way to write your phrase:
Please go to the tourist office information center and ask a member of the staff to call this phone number
Staff is a synonym of employees
