Ni hao ,
Like = xihuan 喜欢
to be fond of someone or something ,appreciate its characteristics without any hearty emotional engagement , showing interest and preference to it. You can like a person as well as food or a certain style etc .
Love = ai 爱
being emotionally engaged with someone, having a strong feeling of attachment towards that someone (or something). A warmer affectionate feeling based mostly on personal ties or long term acquaintances or it might happen "le coup de foudre" lol , love at first sight ;)

the difference between love and like (i am assuming you mean with a boy, right)..... Like = enjoying being in the presence of a person, LOVE = more intense, much more than an infatuation.... it is not only enjoying but desiring their presence, thinking about them ahead of yourself, wanting to fulfill their needs ahead of yours..... doe shta thelp
